Suitable for ages 12 and up. Contains slapstick violence, some (very funny) suggestive situations and one brief scene of nudity Viewed VHS 60 minute long, two episode OVA

Possibly the most ridiculous OVA series I have seen. Dragon Half is an hour long, 2 episode OVA filled with slapstick and basic craziness. Dragon Half is about Mink, our red headed little child, who is half dragon and half human as a result of her father falling in love with the dragon he was supposed to slay. Besides the fact, that Mink has horns and a tail coming out of her butt, Mink just has to add to her problems by falling in love with the popstar Dick Saucer (I know!). Dick is the most popular star in the world and Mink is determined to go to his concert, but she can't find a ticket. By chance, Mink just happens to get blown up by a jealous fan of the Dick Saucer fan club. After the explosion Mink lands on dick's lips, making matters even worse! Mink almost gets slayed by Dick, because Dick happens to be a professional dragon slayer.

My oh my, where do I start. This is the weirdest, funniest thing I have ever seen. Have you seen Magic Knight Rayearth? Well, the superdeformed characters are in this OVA to, except they are used to the extreme, and the funny thing is, that the voices actually get higher as the characters become deformed. I would tell you some of the jokes, but that would just ruin the suprise of the ridiculous, unexpected jokes that you will encounter. I can tell you to expect tons of slapstick, toliet humor, sexual humor and other non subtle humor. Trust me, it's hilarious.

One of the biggest strengths of this series is the characters. I loved everyone of them. That even includes the bad guys. They were all just so funny. And the excellent subbed voices really help. (I wonder what the dubbed voices for this movie is like, I don't think they would ever be able to match the quality of the Japanese voice actors.) The story is a bit silly, if not cliched, but they point of this series is not the story, it's the humor. Also, the action is pretty cool. There is alot of fireballs and smashing and throwing and thunderblasts, all used for humors sake of course.

The music is pretty good. As I read the lyrics to the closing song, I felt it was the stupidest thing I have ever read, but then again, it does fit the randomness of the action in this show. (Don't touch the tomato, it's my tomato!) The art is all right. It's very bright and everything is pleasing, but the characters do lack detail. My one complaint about this series is the length. Only two episodes were made and that kinda sucks. I really wanted this show to go on for a much longer time as too much is left open.

The best way to describe this series, is looney tunes, on steroids, but much cuter. It's a great series and worth a buy, even if it is only two episodes long. People looking for something deep and serious should pass this one up but if you are looking for a great time, and mindless freaking funny fun, then I suggest you buy this.
