Can you say "pathetic?" This is a bad, bad movie. Only 45 minutes long, I didn't really expect much anyway. The Japanese version is supposed to be 50 minutes long (so either way, the movie is a shallow bloodfest. The uncut version is just a shallow, pornographic bloodfest.) and maybe I would've enjoyed this movie if it had more depth. Being only 45 minutes long, Kite seems like a shallow ride of violence and gore. Kite is about an assassin named Sawa, who is trained to kill child molesters relentlessly against her will. After her parents were murdered, the assassins who killed her parents take Sawa in and force her to become an assassin. The irony in this movie is good, but I won't say what it is. Sawa meets a boy assassin named Oburi (giggle) and must decide whether she wants to stay as an assassin or take revenge on the boss who killed her parents and stay with Oburi. A nice story but it is executed way wrong.

Kite is just violent scene after violent scene. It's gross. (Especially the delayed exploding bullets, which explode inside a person after they have been shot.) Yuck. There are also some other gory scenes too. However, there are very few good points to this movie. Sawa is designed very well and I like her. However, Oburi has no personality at all and looks like a young Keanu Reeves with beach bum added in. The rest of the characters are pretty creepy. I don't know if that is intentional or unintentional. The ending is crazy. If you do see this movie, which I recommend you don't, watch the ending very carefully. The ending is shocking but just seems like it would never happen. Don't forget the poor character development either and scenes that just seem to be thrown in as an excuse to add even more violence.

The animation is gorgeous but the voice acting for the dub is kind of bad. The voices are just irritating. I remember at the end of the movie saying, "what's the point?" Some consider kite powerful but I consider it a violent and shallow blood fest. Do not touch this movie, it's icky and it's dumb. I wouldn't suffer watching this crap again if I was paid. This movie didn't touch me in any way and I didn't enjoy it. I didn't think about the movie for days after either. I didn't pick up any messages from this movie, except if you go to school than you should be an assassin and blow things up. Lovely.... It's just lame and some of the things in this movie are stupid. Can a 15-year-old girl really blow up a subway, half a building and a tanker just to kill her target, which isn’t the right one anyway, and then she only comes out of that with only a scratch but she complains about losing her earrings. Shut up! She should be happy she got out of that alive. And are 15 year olds really assassins, and no one even cares. Common! The pointless and disgusting violence, length, bad voice acting, pointlessness and the basic stupidity of this movie is pathetic. Oh is that another person exploding? The world could care less! DO NOT see this movie. It's bad. Poking needles in my eye would be more pleasant than watching this again. DO NOT RENT OR WATCH THIS MOVIE! It's pointless. I felt unsatisfied at the end of the movie and just really didn't care, what the point of this movie was. Kite is a love it or hate it movie. I hated it.
