December 31: Stomp!

The Lego tree

The Vandals won the Humanitarian Bowl. Kinda describes the year, doesn't it?

Then we have the Washington Post review, and some good ideas for a time capsule from The New York Times.

My first goal for next year is to clean up the back apartment. I have a "before" picture which is too scary to show and hope, next year, to have a much less frightening "after" picture. I have some resolutions to help me meet this, but more on that tomorrow. The second goal is to be able to touch my hands behind my back, one over my shoulder, one up from my waist. This is not the first time I have had this as a goal, but this time I'm serious. The shoulder is currently hurting again, but it's been better much of the day.

We picked Justine up for STOMP and she had a couple of See's gift certificates for me. On the way into the theater there is a new statue, some straw people holding up a rock. "You'll hurt your shoulders!" I warned them.

The show is WONDERFUL! At the beginning, I saw a deaf woman going into her seat in the front row, and at first I'd thought she was an interpreter... wait a minute. I thought of them during the show, and I bet they liked it. Of course, I kept noting the performers stressing their shoulders, but I'm slightly obsessed with the subject at the moment. Every so often there were audience participation moments, till by the end we were actually clapping some fairly complicated stuff.

The parking garage looked too busy when we left, so we walked around a block and through the Hyatt, getting ready for its New Year's Party. Then in the elevator we saw another couple. "Did you like it?" I asked. "Eh?" he said, grinning.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, all!

Eh?
