I can but hope Al is wrong, and they're (the people) going to look and say "mighod, the man is sleaze, and the party is supporting sleaze. Yuck." Locally, there's even a Democrat ad about impeachment and how if lying is wrong, this Republican told three whoppers. They're kind of stuck there, yes? If Ose is so wrong, why isn't Clinton? (You could say, then, if Clinton is so wrong, why not Ose? Well, I don't know if Ose did lie, and in any case, he didn't lie before a grand jury.)
Sally Quinn has an interesting column today. I'm not sure I believe the "other people in the country don't care" line, anyway. I see a lot of local rallies that are anti-Clinton and pro-resignation. It seems to me that many people DON'T want to reward him.

Oh, well, we'll know tomorrow. I think I'm ready. I haven't been able to get hold of Agnes today, and Ora had to drop out, but they got me another person, John. (Whose answering machine I talked to.) Jitter, jitter. I think I'm organized. A woman came around today with my missing supplies (pushpins and thumbtacks and paperclips.) We're all loaded up. I got food for tomorrow, including doughnuts and rolls to share. (Not to mention the Hallowe'en candy.) We voted yesterday. We're as ready as we can be, I think.

I took a 2.9 mile walk around the precinct last week. I saw 3 Republican signs, and 2 flowery ones saying "Deborah" that made my teeth ache. There are 762 voters, and 194 of them are voting absentee. There are 318 Democrats, 375 Republicans, 11 American Independents, 5 each of Greens and Libertarians (no, this isn't my precinct, so I'm not counted here!) 2 Natural Law, 4 Reform and NO Peace and Freedom(! I guess they've become Greens). 45 are independent.

It'll be a long day. We go over there at 6:15, open the polls at 7 and close them at 8 PM, then counting and getting organized, till whenever, which is probably about 9 or so. It should be better than the Primary, though, as there's only one ballot type to deal with.

And the best thing is, NO MORE POLITICAL ADS!
