With my nice new Pentium and 40M memory, I've done a second page about Dixie.

The nice new 40M also makes it a lot easier to clean out my Netcom account and transfer files to floppy disk, yes.

Another discovery I made while surfing, is that Oct 4 was Pogo's 50th birthday. And I missed it. Then I finally looked at some of my dorothy-l mailing list and found that Bouchercon is over. It was a month early this year. Drat. I'd hoped to have all my pages from LAST year done, only a year late. I guess it'll be longer now!

And I can now do crossword puzzles! Yes! I've been making do with too little memory for so long. (So then I went and spent the afternoon playing DOS-based Sokoban! Even that seems to go better!)

I've been surfing instead of, oh, walking. 10 miles this week. My weight remains the same, too high. I got new jeans this week, and had the devil of a time zipping them, and there's no way I can sit in them! Also, this week, I threw out two pairs of undies. This always feels so sinful, never mind that they were so ratty my Mom was screaming in my head something about going to the hospital in them. One pair was just tattered, and in fact, since actually pitching them is such a mortal sin, I'd mended them a couple of times. The other pair, though, was holey, yes, but also, woe, the elastic was stretched. I guess it's understandable that they don't last longer than 5 or 6 years, but still.
I did mail off some things to Bernadette and the paperwork for her yearbook ad, and a survey form, so I pretty well am staying even with the mail. I wrote no updates or anything else, and only read two magazines (also I threw out a bunch of old catalogs.) Maybe the faster computer will get me off sooner and out doing the things I'm supposed to do?
