Appalachian Trail Hike, May 2003
From Unicoi Gap to Woods Gap.  Five days, 30 miles.
Worth every minute!
Starting point--Unicoi Gap.  We are ready to go!!
Blood Mountain Shelter--We arrived here day 4.  Elevation 4400 feet
Beat and sore, I was unaware of the camera.  I fell asleep at 6pm and missed the sunset:(
Adjusting straps and such.  Buddy teams!
At Neel's Gap.
Sample of steep rocky terrain.  There was plenty of this!
After over 2 hours of uphill hiking in the rain, I was too low on carb intake, soaking wet,  and fading fast.  But it was worth it!
Beautiful views from Blood Mountain, which made it all worthwhile!
Blood Mountain Shelter.  The most visited place on the entire Appalachian Trail.   Where  the skunk charged at me while I slept:)
The Gang!
