Chapter 22 The Prophecy After the Death Eaters were off the grounds, Alexa broke the shield and looked around. The giants were standing by themselves. Strewn out on the ground were the Death Eaters' bodies. Some were dead, the others just seriously injured. Alexa sighed. "Look at all this. I knew it would be happening but I didn't think anyone was going to die." "It wasn't your fault. It was Voldemort's." Harry said. "I know. But still, what if the reason he needed to kill you and your parents was because of me?" "What are you talking about Alexa?" Ron said. "Come on. I'll tell you in the common room." They ran inside and up toward Gryffindor Tower. When they got in, they walked over to a corner to be alone. "There was a prophecy in Voldemort's journal. It said-- Oh... Here it is." she said pulling out a piece of parchment. The words on the paper were faded and the parchment was crumpled and folded. "On the night that the two die, the one shall be taken to the horrible three. Another shall be taken to far, far away, to the only one to trust. The two shall grow up and finally meet. Eight months later will be partial the defeat. Next day, some shall die, many shall live, one charged guilty, although innocent, shall go free. The guilty will be charged to death. The daughter of the worst may meet her doom when she battles the unknown. Fatal the battle shall be and darkness shall cover the second. The daughter may come back to the loved ones however the battle shall end. The two that meet may lose a defeat and the only clue to one's past will be gone forever." "What's it mean?" Ron asked. "Read the first part." " 'On the night that the two die, one will be taken to the horrible three.' That part's easy. It's Harry's parents’ deaths and he's taken to the Dursley's. 'Another shall be taken far,far away to the only on to trust' That'd be me because I was taken to my grandmother's. 'The two shall grow up and finally meet. Eight months later will be partial the defeat." "Partial the defeat? What's that mean?" Harry asked. "Maybe it was you defeated your parents and then the partial part is the Death Eaters." Hermione said. "That makes sense. ' Next day some shall die, many shall live--' " "This is the battle" Alexa nodded. " 'One charged guilty, although innocent, shall go free. The guilty will be charged to death.' That's Sirius. So he's going to get his name cleared. Good. 'The daughter of the worst--' that's me ' may meet her doom when she battles the unkown. Fatal the battle shall be and darkness shall cover the second.' That means I’m going to battle something and I could die from it or defeat the thing and be covered with darkness. Definitely not a win-win situation." "But the next part says 'The daughter may come back to the loved ones however the battle shall end.' So that means you're going to come back to us however it ends up." Harry said. " 'The two that meet may lose a defeat and the clue to one's past will be gone forever.' So that means that we are going to lose something and a clue to your past." "What about yours?" "My past? I already know everything. My grandmother told me before she died." "Read the rest of it." "That's all. You know, I really don't like this prophecy." "Wait. If you battle something and lose to it then how could you and Harry lose a key to his past? Unless it's a person that is the key." Hermione said. "I don't know. I don't think this is going to come true." "Alexa, most of it has. Have you told Dumbledore?" Alexa shook her head. "You should. He could figure it out." "I know. Believe me. But I don't want anyone else to know." "This is saying that you're either going to die or be covered in darkness. Either way, that means something bad is going to happen to you." "I know. But either way, I'm coming back to you. But who said a prophecy really comes true?" "Alexa, you aren't taking this seriously. You can't just forget about it." "Hey, Harry. Did you hear that? Hermione is being serious about a prophecy and she walked out in Divination." Ron said. Harry smiled. "Well, goodnight. I'm going to bed. There isn't anything to worry about." "She can't possibly be serious. I can't believe she's taking this for granted." Hermione said. "We'll figure it out tomorrow. I'm tired too. Goodnight." Harry said and he and Ron walked up to their dormitory. Hermione grumbled about them not taking it seriously as she walked up toward her dormitory. She made sure the lights were off before she went in. When the door to the dormitory closed, the parchment lit up. Although it was dark in the common room, the light from the parchment lit it up like day. From the words on the paper, a dark cloud rose. All the light disappeared and the cloud drifted toward the girls’ dormitory. |
