Chapter 20 The Battle Begins The Death Eaters' main target was Alexa so she formed a shield around herself. She decided against it, broke the shield, dodged a curse, and formed another one around all the teachers and students. Her shield had much strength in it, so it withstood many curses. One of the Death Eaters figured out that it would take to long to brake the shield so he took a knife from his robes. He took careful aim, and threw it at Alexa. Harry saw what the Death Eater was doing and shot a curse toward him right as he released the knife. Before Harry could warn Alexa who had been leaning over to grab something, the knife hit her in the right arm. Alexa dropped her wand but when Harry bent to help her up, she placed something in his hand. She grabbed her wand and winced in pain as she magically took the knife out but used a pain-numbing spell and conjured bandages with her left hand. Harry had been watching her in amazement, heard a squeak from his hand. He looked down and saw a rat with a missing toe. He grabbed the rat by the tail and held him upside down. Alexa stood up and transfigured the rat into a desk. The shield had finally broken and everyone was dodging curses. Some of the students were attempting the Unforgivables but failing miserably. Some of the sudents were under the Imperius Curse and unwillingly sending curses toward Alexa. She would block them and send something back. She never sent a dangerous curse toward another student, just little things like the jellylegs curse and the full body bind curse so the student wasn't of any use to the Death Eater without having to undo the curse and start the Imperius again. Everybody was coming up with ideas but none would work. Alexa finally came up with a desperate plan. "Hagrid!" she yelled over the noise of the battle. Hagrid bent down and she told him her idea, while blocking curses. "It's risky but it's your decision." " 'S risky but there's no choice." Alexa summoned Hedwig and jotted down a note on a piece of parchment while hiding behind a tree. "Go! Hurry!" Alexa formed a shield that would protect Hedwig long enough to get away from the battle. The battle raged on and yet, no students or Death Eaters were killed. Most of the Death Eaters, it seemed, had children in the battle and were reluctant to hurt any of them. The students were the same way. An hour after the battle had begun, the sun disappeared. Everyone stopped cursing and looked up at the sky. A hundred giants were flying into the battle, using magic. They flew toward the temporarily stopped battle. Alexa braced herself for the impact of them landing but even so, she and everyone else fell to the ground. Alexa got up, formed a shield around herself and told the head giant her plan. The giant agreed so Alexa formed powerful shields around them. Then she ran back toward where Harry and Draco stood and formed another shield around everyone again. All at once, the giants ran toward the Death Eaters. Most of them ran away from the giants because giant didn't know very many curses. The giants would yell things and something would shoot out of the wand and land on a Death Eater. "Quite amusing." Draco said to Alexa as he watched. But Alexa was no longer there.
