Myrtle Potter:
Chapter Seven - Post and Predictions
After much celebrating, rejoicing and a visit to Hedwig. Myrtle and Toni returned to Gryffindor Tower. Myrtle was now Seeker of the Gryffindor House Team like her Father and Grandfather had been.

“I’m so happy for you Myrtle. I knew you’d get it. You left that Yvette girl shaking under her robes. That’ll teach her to mess with a Gryffindor.” Said Antoinette.

“Yeah I know.” Replied Myrtle. “Hold on a tick, I just want to change robes, I’ll be down in a minute.”

Myrtle ascended to the dormitory, drew the hangings and began to pull off her robes. As she did, an envelope fell to the floor. The letter from home, she had completely forgotten. She dragged a clean pair of robes from her trunk, put them on and bent down to retrieve her letter.

Written, in her Father’s scrawly handwriting was:

Dearest Myrtle,

As you are obviously aware, Professor Black has informed me of your dream. I too agree that it is more likely to be a premonition, but persuading others may be hard to do. I will ask you at this point not to be alarmed; I am working to discover the dream’s true meaning. The minute anything out of the ordinary occurs, tell Professor Black. Now, on to the real purpose of this letter.

I will be collecting you from Hogwarts tomorrow morning so that you can visit your Mother and twin brothers, Sirius James and Remus George Potter. It came as a surprise but both your mother and I are delighted at the arrival of the twins.

Meet me in the Entrance Hall at 9 a.m. tomorrow. And to answer your question, no, Toni cannot come. See you there.

All My Love,

Dad xxxxx
P.S. Congratulations on becoming Seeker!

“Twin brothers?” Myrtle thought aloud. “Twins. And how did he know that I was Seeker?” Antoinette coming to see where she had got to interrupted her thoughts.

“Myrtle, what on Earth are you doing? I thought you’d been cursed by pixies you’ve been gone that long.” She paused, judging by the look on Myrtle’s face, something was wrong. “What’s up?”

“Nothing” Myrtle lied. “Mum had twins, that’s all. Two boys, Sirius and Remus. I’m going to visit them tomorrow.”

“Way cool! Can I come?” inquired Toni.

“Dad said no. I’m sorry Toni.”

“That’s alright. Come on, everyone’s waiting for you downstairs.”

Toni was right everyone was waiting to congratulate Myrtle. Somehow she didn’t much feel like celebrating. She had that awful feeling in her gut that something was about to go horribly wrong and there was nothing she could do to rid herself of the feeling. It was impossible to think of anything else.

A feast was held that night in the Great Hall to celebrate the selection of the new Quidditch teams. Yvette unfortunately had been made Seeker for Syltherin House. Harrison, of course was Ravenclaw’s new Seeker and Hufflepuff were sticking with their old one Aaron Denison.

Professor Black was looking grim again. Myrtle presumed that she had obviously stumbled across something that was not to be taken lightly. No matter how much everyone wanted to celebrate, she knew that something terrible was going to happen and unless her Dad could stop it, they may as well be preparing for the end.

A tap on the shoulder brought Myrtle back to reality. Professor Black was standing over her shoulder. Myrtle had not seen him leave the teacher’s table. He was forcing a smile.

“Tell your Mum and Dad congratulations from me and that I’ll pay them a visit shortly to see my namesake. Don’t look so sad Myrtle, things will turn out right, they always do.” With that he left.

When the feast was over, the Gryffindors returned to their common room. Myrtle, however, just went up to bed. She drew the hangings around her bed, slipped under the covers and cried herself to sleep. On her tear-soaked pillow, she fell into a deep sleep.

“My Lord. My Master. My brothers are here. What is their purpose? How will they help us achieve darkness?”

“Patience.” Hissed the second voice. “You will know soon enough. I think, however, that only one of the Potter babies is needed. When I have made some further calculations and I know every little detail, we will act.”

“And what of my sister.” Spat the first voice, vengeance illuminating all the surroundings.

“All in good time Eleanor, all in good time.” It stopped, and Myrtle woke with a start, covered in sweat.
