Barry Smith: Epilogue |
My dear viewers must be concerned as to what happens to Barry. Does he ever come out of his coma? Are Harry and Barry ever truly united? Or has Voldemort achieved his plan, keeping the two swankiest boys separated for all eternity. I will explain. I cannot express the serverity of Barry's condition. Regaining his life after being hurt so badly was hard enough, but waking up from his coma, practically impossible. He had been given the medical term "vegetable" to define his current state. But things are not always what they seem in the wizarding world. And perhaps it can be said that miracles do occur, maybe just not as often as all the wizards would like. 3 years after Harry and Barry's meeting and the attack on both their lives, Barry awoke from his coma. The wizarding world as he knew it was no longer. Harry had defeated Voldemort and the evil wizard no longer threatened peaceful existance. Dumbledore had passed on after duelling with Voldemort, Sirius Black had been redeemed by the society and was no longer outcast. And good old Harry had gotten married to his long time love, Cho Chang. After coming out of his coma, Barry and Harry did lunch. They sat down at the table and ordered themselves delicious delicacies, because Harry was very rich he could afford such luxuries. Over lunch the two realised that since they had been apart for their entire lives, they really had nothing in common even though they were twin brothers and had no other immediate family. Out two decided that they should, from then on, only see each other on holidays and special occassions. Upon returning to Scotland, Barry learned that his adoptive parents, Mr & Mrs Smith had both died of lung cancer (they were chain smokers). Barry was distraught. He now had nobody left in this world, besides Harry who he really didn't like anyway. Two months later, when Harry and Cho came to Scotland for Christams it visit Barry, they found him in a terrible state. He was so grumpy that he wouldn't let them inside the house and stood in his doorway abusing them. Barry informed them that he could no longer go on associating with Harry even though they were twin brothers because he didn't like it that Harry was known for living and he himself wasn't known for almost dying from Voldemort's wrath. He told them as long as Harry was famous, he couldn't be his brother. Barry also didn't like the way Harry liked to walk around all day in a polka-dotted shirt, it annoyed him! So that was that. Barry and Harry retunited, then separated because Barry knew he could never love someone who was famous while he lay, alone in the shadows. Voldemort had succeeded in keeping Barry and Harry apart. He had managed to conquer Barry with jealousy, but Harry, never. He would live on forever. |
