Harry Potter and Voldemort's Attack: by Anna Marie Chapter 1 The Journey to Hogwarts It was September first and Alexa sat in her compartment on the Hogwarts Express, gazing out the window into the heavy blanket of rain falling. "I have to keep this secret to myself. If anybody found out about it then..." Just then the compartment door opened and in stepped 3 students looking about 15. There were two boys and one girl. The girl had lots of brown hair and looked like the brains of the three. One of the boys had firy red hair and was really tall and the other boy had messy black hair, and glasses. "Can we sit in here?" asked the boy-- Harry Potter. "There aren't any open compartments." "Uh...Sure" "Thanks" said the boy with red hair. "What's your name? I'm Hermione." said the girl. "Alexa." "I'm Ron and this here's--" "Harry Potter. I know. The boy who defeated Voldemort" There was a long silence which was broken by Hermione. "Are you a first year?" "Sort of." "What d'you mean?" asked Ron. "Well this is my first year at Hogwarts but I'm transferring from another school. But I'm going into my fifth year." "What school did you go to?" asked Hermione. "You would never have heard of it." "I wouldn't count on that. Hermione knows just about everything about every school." said Ron making Hermione turn pink. "It's possibly the smallest school around and it's never been in any book so I doubt you've heard of it." "So when did you get here?" Harry asked. "Well I finished the term at my old school and then went to Hogwarts to catch up and get everything arranged." "What house do you want to be in?" asked Ron. "Anything but Slytherin" "You know the houses?" Hermione asked. "Yeah, my dad used to come here and I was at Hogwarts during the summer for lessons from Dumbledore" "Why did you need lessons?" "My school was really behind in things so I left and came here." "What did your parents say about that?" "Well....Actually my parents are dead." "How did they die?" asked Harry. "The same way yours did. By Voldemort." Both Ron and Hermione flinched at the sound of the name but Harry had a knowing look on his face. Just then the lunch lady pushing her cart arrived outside their compartment. "Anything you want dears?" she asked. Harry,Ron and Hermione all went out to get food but Alexa turned bact to her window. "Aren't you coming Alexa? asked Harry. "No, I'm just going to stay here." "Ok" "I almost gave it away to them" she said quietly."'Anything but Slytherin' or 'my dad used to come here' Get a grip Alexa or they'll know about what really happened to your parents within a week." "Catch!" "What's this for?" Alexa asked as she caught the chocolate frog Ron had thrown her. "We got a lot of food so we're going to share" Hermione said. "Oh you don't have to-" "We know but we're being nice to you. Look we got some of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans and chocolate frogs and all sorts of stuff. So come on have some" Ron said. So they ate the food and talked the rest of the way to Hogwarts and for the first time in fifteen years Alexa was happy. Chapter 2 Hogwarts When they arrived at the Hogsmeade Station, the rain had stopped but the clouds were still hanging in the sky, threating to start raining again. Alexa climbed into a carriage with Harry,Ron and Hermione and as they rode toward the castle, the dreadful feeling about her secret came over her. "I hope the sorting doesn't take long, I'm starving." said Ron. "Ron your always hungry." "Shut up Hermione" They rode the rest of the way to Hogwarts in silence. When they reached the great oak doors, they pulled them open and went inside. Delicous smells from the Great Hall drifted toward them. They walked in and saw the four House tables and the staff table with Snape looking extremely mad. Alexa sat down by Harry at the Gryffindor table and watched the sorting. After it was over, Dumbledore got up and the Hall went silent. "Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts!"he said."We have a new student who has transferred here from another school. Alexa, please come to be sorted." As Alexa got up and walked toward the stool where Dumbledore stood, she saw Snape looking both amazed and terrified that she was there. And Alexa knew why. It seemed like the walk took forever but finally she reached the stool and sat down and placed the hat on her head which slid down over her eyes. "Hmm, which House shall I put you in?" said a small voice. "Anything but Slytherin" Alexa thought. "Not Slytherin eh? Hmm. You would be good; like another pupil but I think it had better be GRYFFINDOR!" the hat said shouting out the last word. Alexa went back to the Gryffindor table with relief flooding over her. "Now let us eat!" said Dumbledore cheerfully. The gloden plates filled with food and everyone started to eat. They ate and when the last crumbs faded away from the plates, Dumbledore stood up again. "As always the Forbidden Forest is out-of-bounds. Now up to bed!" Alexa left with her new friends, the only friends she'd ever had, and headed up to Gryffindor Tower with them. They stopped at the Fat Lady. "Uh...what's the password?" Ron asked. "Maybe we should go find Proffessor McGonagall" Hermione said. "We were never told." Just then another prefect came up to the Tower. "What are you four doing out here? You should all be in bed!" he said. "We don't know the password," Harry explained. "Oh, it's fiddlewiggle." Then the Fat Lady swung forward to let them in. "Well you had better get up to bed. It's the first day tomorrow. You'll want a good rest." he said. "He sounds like Percy" Ron said as they headed towards their rooms.
