Hamsters
Everything you wanted to know about these adorable pets

Before buying a hamster you have to make sure it won't become meat for another pet eg. a cat. The next thing is to find out whether or not the hamster you are buying is young and healthy, this is very important for hamsters live only about 2.5 - 3 years.  It is very easy  to tell if the animal is healthy, just look at it's fur and at the eyes if it looks cute ad cudly it's fine!!!  Your new friend will need a place to live, if you have a Syrian hamster the cage has to be the classic one with bars as they love to bite the bars all night long! But if you have a Siberian dwarf hamster you'll need an aquarium or a plastic cage. Make sure the hamster is not able to get out of the cage; when they are young they are very active and they, just like mice, can squeeze through bars!  Hamsters usually become friendly even just a few hours after they are in the new home but they can feel nervous for the first week, this is why it is important that they are not left alone especially during the first days,  they have to understand you are his/her friend.  Even after you have established friendship a hamster should not be left alone all day!  Hamsters are very practical pets as they can be kept in a room with people, they don't leave messes outside the cage, and they are capable of being perfect pets regardless of their size!!
