Tuning Your Voice

The following short writing assignments will help you tune your voice. Select one of the following assignments and write at least 6 sentences for each part of the assignment.

1.  a game winning shot during the last second of a basketball game

a. Describe the shot from the perspective of a player from the winning team.

b. Describe the shot from the perspective of a player from the losing team.

2. taking a test

a. Describe it from the perspective of a student who is well prepared.

b. Describe it from the perspective of a student who did not study.

3. an embarrasing moment

a. Describe it from the perspective of the person being embarrased.

b. Describe it from the perspective of a person watching.
