Gus and Felicity

We all hoped, or most of us hoped, that Gus and Felicity would get together. But there were many, many times when it didn't look like it would happen. Felicity could be such a jerk and through all that Gus still loved her. I often ask myself why. Why did he? I have no answer. Felicity does truly love him but she didn't always show it.  She turned down his marriage proposal three times before accepting. When she did, his ship went down at sea. All were presummed dead. We all thought it was the end. Not so. Every soon before Felicity is to marry another(Stuart McRae), she gets a call from South Carolina. She and Aunt Hetty take a trip down, against everyones' wishes, and find Gus alive! But Gus is blind and doesn't want to go back. He doesn't want Felicity to be burdened with him the rest of their lives. Felicity will not take no for an answer and finnaly he agrees to go back with her.  In the in the last episode they do finally get married.
