Today's UK Music Paper Polls records the first emergence of punk within their national readers polls. Sounds readers voted the Sex Pistols 'Anarchy In The UK' as their 8th best record and it was also voted the worst!!! The Pistols are voted 10th best new band and Rat Scabies of The Damned is voted 10th best drummer. Rival mag New Musical Express records their readers voting the Sex Pistols as the 6th 'Most promising emergent Act' with The Stranglers coming in at 15. 'Anarchy In The UK' came top in the Best single Section and Johnny Rotten was voted 'Most wonderful human being!' |
