A Catastrophe, Meaningless

Unforeseen consequences, aftermath is a disaster

of blood spattered on cold pavement

lying prostrate, gasping and asking to be saved

Red rivulets of regret, miscalculations led to death

Nomad warrior, fearlessness and fortitude

Insanity is not a recipe for vitality

Final terminus before the stairway to Heaven

Chemical sunset of a Los Angeles night,

        starlight and streetlights phosphorescent

Staring up into the glaring luminosity

Blaring lights, blurred vision and L.A.P.D. squad cars

                            shimmering on the horizon

Black, white, vision tinted crimson

                 film of smoke obscures comprehension

flashing red and blue, 80 miles per hour of futile efforts

Sirens wail and surreal hail thunders down from the clouds

Paramedics hazy and faded on the outskirts of awareness

Thought he would care but it all seems meaningless now

Nothing to show for a lifetime of fast cars and fast girls

and not a single connection

Watching a cartoon but he’s the main character

Not reality since the pain is a hallucination

Bird’s eye view omnisciently observing the situation

         puddle of ethanol and hemoglobin

as backstabbers vanish into the burg,

                                                       Forever.
