Self-destruction

I went outside and drank a cold cup
I swallowed hard and felt me wake up
The bitter brew that helps you throw up
Just make it lite, I’d hate to fill up
This is what it’s like to grow up
You ain’t cool unless you show up
Cat got your tongue? Here, drink up
Just know your role; you’re still a fuck up
I went up there, at the keg spot
Who knows when, but it had been bought
I joined right quick to find what I sought
But realized soon I needed some pot
Drugs provide a way to release
Stuck at home without your own keys
All you want is just a free piece
Fine, it’s yours, just get your own lease
While we breathe the shit just builds up
Makes it hard to live your life up
Until the time when you can toke up
Drink some, smoke some, then you’ll feel “up”
And that’s just what our parents will fight
Thinking drugs will make us tripe
Even though that’s all that I like
My friends, my nights, they keep my light bright
A culture based on feeling that high
Holds us from the point where we try
Doesn’t matter, later we’ll fly
Later on I’ll get me that pie
For now, our brains and hopes we’ll fry
To friends, family and selves we’ll lie
You know it’s cool, you are so sly
Self-destruction’s the name of the game 1
