Five Necessary Moments

I will not die of my own accord because then I could not

Yearn to melt into the canopy of trees green and brown
      with sparkly sky between
      or sad slow raindrops

Force through the head-on collision of the great wall of sound
      amplification
      shocked and scared
      whisper and scream
      cry and beautiful
      soft and sweet

Exhale and push pain through thick bones and heart under the
      too hot sharp water droplets
in a billowing unfriendly necessary shower
(Exhale and close inside eyes under gentle tap of cleansing and completing)

Trade a smile
      inspire one
      feel one undeserved but unpreventable
      (bursting and unstoppable)

Fall secure into arms hands chests of love
-letting them protect and heal-
when I bruise.
