VCDs   It'll be nice if you have the budget to get the whole Fann Wong's collecton drama series VCDs (6 sets) but if you were like me tight budget, it would be nice to get something of the best choice and worth of money, so I personally come out of this list maybe to help you choose what to buy and for your reference. #1 Top Choice Chronicle of Life (1995) On sale from 1 June 2004 Estimate price: $29.90 When I first saw the release of the 6 VCDs collecton, i immediately lay my eyes on Chronicle of Life without doubt, it can be said to be one of the best performance from Fann Wong, where Fann has to act from young to old and to think back, she was only like 24yr-old and being a newbie at that time, Fann could actually came up with such outstanding performance, no wonder this role won her the Best Actress in Star Awards 95' and an overnight star in Singapore. There are some scenes which I could still remember clearly that were so classic. No doubt this is my first recommendation and of cos I will also get it for sure. #2 Choice Zhong Wu Yan (2004) Watch out for the release date Estimate price: $39.90x 2 series This is the latest drama which Fann has just finished filming not long ago and not even telecast on TV yet. In this overseas production where Fann will act as Zhong Wuyen, the female warrior with a red birthmark across half of her face, this time Fann paired up with HongKong veteran charatcer actor Gallen Lo and many China and HK stars. Fann has to act tough and feminine in her new role and a test of her acting skills. I believe being a fan of Fann will not wait any longer for her new series. 1/2 #3 Choice Fann Adventure (2003) on sale from 28 August 2004 Estimate price: $19.90 Fann plays as a host in her travelogue show, something interesting as you can hardly see her as a host and after all Fann is being herself and the real Fann Wong you are seeing which are not any charater she played in the drama. Fann and her co-host Jeff Wang bring us to tour around Malaysia and South Africa. With beautiful scenes and places of interest, we see a different image of Fann. #4 Choice Heroes in Black (2001) on sale from 18 July 2004 Estimate price: $29.90 Actually this series isn't one of my top choices but to compare with Always on my mind and The Legendary Swordsman, I had to rank Heroes in Black above the two (reason explain below). This is a periodic comedy and light hearted drama which is suitable for the whole family to watch together. Fann played as a lady boss in "Di Yi Chu" restaurant but actually she doesn't have any cookery skills. Other cast to spice up this drama include Ouyang Zhen Hua, Zhen Pei Pei and Li Nanxing. This drama is crazy but definitely not lame as there is always a story behind those laughter. If you like light hearted comedy, this would you great for you and Fann in some scenes had to be dressed in a miserable poor state which you could hardly recognise her. #5 Choice Always on my mind (2003) on sale from 18 August 2004 Estimate price: $29.90 This isn't one of best drama in Fann's filmography all these years but definitely one of the few modern dramas you are expected to watch. Having SARS as the theme story for this series, it can be quite hard to digest and painful at times. Fann acted as a doctor this time who later caught the virus. She was also the love interest for Doctor Tiger played by Tay Ping Hui and her ex-beau (Christopher Lee) who died in a accident leaving Guan Sijia (Fann) painful memories. If you don't mind something hard-hearted or love doctoric documentaries, you might like this drama and Fann looks beautiful in it, by the way she sung the theme songs for this drama too since her last album in 2000. #6 Choice The Legendary Swordsman (2000) on sale from 18 June 2004 Estimate price: $29.90x 2 series Fann acted as a evil sect daughter Ren Ying Ying who fell for Ling Hu Chong ( Ma Jing Tao) but has a good heart. The reason why I put this last is beocs Fann got little exposure on this series. The main part was foucs on Lin LiZhi (Chew Chor Meng), Ivy Lee and (Dong Fong Bu Bai) Jacelyn Tay. If Fann wasn't your main draw and you like stories from Jin Yong, then you might like this series. So above is the list where you could take as a reference to choose what to buy if you don't have enough budget and you may or may not agree with me as we all have different perferences.
