Fann: Hollywood can wait
FANN Wong is too busy to care about Hollywood.
'It doesn't matter,' she says in response to Jackie Chan's recent announcement that a sequel to 2003's Shanghai Knights is not likely to happen soon.
The 33-year-old actress acted as the sister of Chan's character in that movie, and is expected to reprise her role in the next film in that franchise.
But she lets on that she met Chan when he was in town in September to promote New Police Story. They did not discuss plans to collaborate on any Hollywood projects.
'That's not my priority right now,' she says.
Having recently wrapped up work for House Of Harmony, the Singapore-German TV movie she co-stars in with Hong Kong actress Maggie Q, she is currently filming a Channel 8 drama series.
Titled Jing Zhong Ren (The Person In The Mirror), it has her playing a 'schizophrenic character'.
Fann spoke to Life! on Wednesday at the launch of a new Xando product at Robertson Quay's River Cafe. She is a spokesman for the weight management brand, as is rumoured beau Christopher Lee, who was also there.
Lee, fresh from finishing the sitcom version of Jack Neo's movie The Best Bet, is now working on a drama series that aims to 'encourage Singaporeans to get married'.
The 33-year-old professes to be 'still looking. I don't think I'll be getting married so soon'.
Fann and him are 'good friends', he maintains.
'We're not embarrassed to be seen together despite all the rumours, because we are both mature adults. All these things are not a big deal.'
