He's singing for a cause

YOUR pledge to the NKF Children's Medical Fund (CMF) really matters to the fund's ambassador, Jeremy Lim, who celebrated his 14th birthday yesterday.

Jeremy, who suffers from brittle bones and moves about in a wheelchair, sang for guests yesterday at a media gathering at the National University Hospital to announce the upcoming NKF Children's Medical Fund Charity Show on July 11 and 18.

Performing in the charity show will be Taiwanese stars Cyndi Wang and 5566, and local celebrities such as Fann Wong and Zoe Tay. It will be telecast on MediaCorp TV Channel 8 at 7pm on both nights. Viewers can call in to make donations to the CMF.

The CMF aims to provide treatment for chronically-ill children and emotional and financial aid to their parents, and carry out research to prevent diseases in the young.

Donation hotlines will open tomorrow at 7pm and close at midnight on July 21.

Call 1900 112 888, 1900 112 8833 and 1900 112 8855 to make donations of $5.25, $15.75 and $26.25, respectively.
