For as long as I can remember I have loved all things Fantasy and Sci/Fi. To be transported into a mythical land of socerey and intrigue, that was only limited by our own imaginations...
This webring is dedicated to the many talented fantasy artisans who have brought us so many truly amazing and beautiful pieces of Fantasy and Science Fiction art work throughout the years. Though our imaginations can take us far it is the hard work and dedication of these artisans to their craft that has really helped defined what the realm of fantasy is today.
There are a few rules and guidelines that anyone entering the ring must adhere to:
No Stealing: Stealing original art work or images off of other people's sites in the ring is FORBIDDEN! It is alright to e-mail the person who's site contains an art piece or an image that you would like to have on your page. Most of us will gladly allow you to save a copy of the image onto your own server and put it up in your page. But blatantly stealing will get you kicked out of the ring.
No Linking: Linking of any kind to images on someone else's sever WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!! This is a horrible practice that has spread through out the Net like wildfire and has shut many a great site down due to the excess bandwidth draw it causes them. If any member of this webring is found linking images on their site off of someone else's site/server they will immediately be dropped from the Webring and the person who's page they were linking from will be notified.
If you have links that are off of another server or page on your site you will have to prove that the other page belongs to you or your site will not be allowed into the ring.
Here are two great places to read more about why you shouldn't link to images on someone else's server:
Web Prestige Join the fight against linking!
Hee Yun's Graphic Collection Please think about it!
If you are a member of the ring and want to combat the problems that arise from other people linking off your page you might want to try renaming the files periodically. Or if you have the ability to create sub directories for the files on your server...changing the names of the sub directories will also break the links. I know that this is a painful process that we shouldn't have to endure but unfortunately there is no way to stop linking for good so we must do what me must do.
Please report violators: I as the ring mistress ask your help as ring members and art lovers to report all violators to me. If you see someone else in the ring either linking or see that someone has stolen an original graphic (not public domain) off your site. Let me know and I will take care of the problem ASAP! You have my word on it!
