Fakes first started appearing a few years ago to try and get uninformed buyers to buy knock-off Jordans. For someone who knew a decent amount about Jordans, most fakes were relatively easy to spot. However, fakes have gotten MUCH better and some are nearly impossible to tell apart, unless you get some help. Hopefully this site will be that helpful tool you need.
Most, if not all, fake Jordans are made Asia...primarily Hong Kong. These Jordans can be bought by anyone for wholesale prices and sold in any part of the world. Canada seems to be a hot spot for fake Jordan sales, but the US is becoming just as popular of a place to make these transactions. Most fakes are sold through the internet, and there are a lot of websites that sell only fake merchandise from shoes to jerseys to watches, but that's not all there is that's fake.
One very easy thing to identify fakes is the colorway, or the colors that make up the shoe itself. As long as you have a reference, or know by memory, you can automatically remove these from the possible choices. But, not all fakes are a different color.
