How's the relationship between F4? The 4 appeared to get along very well on stage, and they have a lot of fun. Ken even helped Jerry with the his rumor (gossip) saying that it was time for them to release information to the media. Last night, F4 performed with song and dance for their Ad. They said that they felt very high from their fans' overwhelming support. During the climax, a cake was pushed out for Vanness' birthday. Vic, Jerry and Ken joined together to sing "Make A Wish," and the fans sang along as well. Zai Zai became teary eyes seeing this. What did F3 give Vanness for his birthday? Well, Ken gave him a building model kit. Jerry smiled and said he gave Vanness something only he could use, but he wouldn't reveal what it was. Vic also said that he couldn't tell neither, saying that he didn't give Vanness anything. He asked Vanness not go give him anything for his birthday. He joked, saying that he was going to give him a Ferrari, but since he didn't want it...so let it be. The media wanted to know about Jerry's lovelife. Ken, who understood Cantonese, helped Jerry translate the questions. Jerry's manager only allowed him to answer question regarding the Ad. When mentioned about his money and lovelife, Jerry said that he wanted to earn more money so that his future wife would be very happy. When asked whose performance was the best in the commercial...Zai Zai, Ken and Vanness looked over at Jerry: "The one who got injured was the best." Zai Zai's break from school was also an issue that was brought up. When asked about it, Zai Zai answered that it was for the best of F4's career. He would be taking a year off and currently, he was very happy. Three of the guys showed a little chest, while Jerry showed off his arms as well. (Ming Sheng Bao-August 8, 2002)

F4 was in Hong Kong once again for their Pepsi Interview. Wherever F4 went, a crowd of fans followed. Yesterday at 11 a.m., over 200 screaming fans greeted them at the airport. The 4 had to be separated. Each of them had 4 to 5 bodyguards to escord them from the airport to the car. The situation was out of control. 49 plus bodyguards were hand-in-hand to serve as a wall barrier in order for the guys to cross. Some fans even chased after their car but luckily no one was injured. When they got to the hotel, there weren't that many fans. Only about 20-30 fans. Perhaps, it was because of the rainy weather. During their interview at night, there were about 400 fans with some wearing blue shirts to match the event. Seeing the fans so supportive, Jerry couldn't help but waved to them and even shook hands with 2 of them. Vic flashed his trademark electric eyes at the fans, while Ken used his fluent Cantonese to greet them. (Lian He Bao-August 7, 2002)

Earlier...as a result of his busy work schedule, Zai Zai had to take a break from school. Rumors started to spread of him wanting to quit the entertainment business, making many fans very worried. In "MG II," Winnie (Jing) worked most with Zai Zai. She told the media that Vic does have a plan of quitting. Whenever he was too tired from work, he would tell Winnie that he had earned enough money and could quit at any moment. Winnie said, "Zai Zai is very honest. Even though he has earned a lot of money, he spends it wisely. He bought a second-hand BMW recently. Zai Zai is still not used to the entertainment business, yet. His road to stardom was too sudden. He no longer has anyone to talk to, so he usually talks to me about what's bothering him. He said he could quit at any time. He doesn't have much of an untamed heart so doesn't mind leaving the business...as long as he is happy." (Sing Tao Daily-August 7, 2002)

F4 was prepared for their Hong Kong Pepsi Interview. They performed their new song, "Ask For More." This was F4's third time in Hong Kong as representatives for the products they were advertising for. F4 replaced Aaron Kwok to sing for the MV's theme song. The MV was about the 4 of them liking a girl and found different ways to impress her. Pepsi hired over 60 bodyguards to ensure F4's safety. There was a 16-inch high billboard at the event, plus four 20-inch pictures of them on stage. Other than Vanness, F3 stayed there overnight. Vanness had to return to Taiwan to promote his first solo album. He'll be 24 years old tomorrow. He'll be picking the female lead to co-star with him for his MV. He requested in front of over 1000 fans to be in his MV. There were many fans in Hong Kong. In order to avoid any caos, he decided to pick the leading female from Hong Kong. A sunny image with an ABC background, Vanness is one of F4's outgoing member. Although he is still very young, he knows how to treat others with respect (polite). Perhaps it was because of his past. Before stardom, he once worked as a telemarketer. He remembered he had to make over 100 calls a day. He had to be calm and patient with some angry customers. This was how he learned to be polite to people. His first solo album, "Body Will Sing" will be released soon. He would be the second member after Zai Zai to release a solo album. "Is it stressful to be the second in line to release a solo album?" Vanness immediately said, "Yes." He remembered that wanted to release an album when he flew from the States. He even tried out for the recording, but he had no response from the record company. He never thought that because of his stardom from "MG," he would have a chance to release an album. Sony saw his wonderful performance on stage and decided to send him to Korea to learn how to dance. He practiced from 2-10 with only one hour break for lunch. Vanness said that he practiced so hard, his legs no longer felt like his. Vanness wanted to prove that he was a very captivating person. Don't let his sunny exterior fool you. Being away from his family in the States, he sometimes feels very lonely being by himself in Taiwan. Promos for his solo album seems to be doing very well, but he was still very stressed out. When he first arrived in Taiwan, he used to go out with his friend at night. Now, he just go to his ABC friends' house. He said he felt much calmer now. (Ming Sheng Bao-August 2, 2002)

F4 chases after a sweet girl, Grace. Jerry drove after a Cola truck. He accidentally drove up a sidewalk and got a few bloody scratches. Zai Zai just had to use his magic finger to lightly touch a button and he got the girl. Why? This was Pepsi's new commercial. It took 5 days of outside filming in Okinawa, Japan. Under the hot sun, the whole crew had to suffer, especially Jerry. He had to chase after the Cola truck with a few difficult car tricks. Bao Lung only practiced twice in preparation for the filming and ended up injuring his hand and leg, scaring the crew. Zai Zai was the luckiest. He only had to lightly pressed his finger on the vending machine, and he got the girl to smile. Vanness and Ken agreed that only Zai Zai was able to do that. The lucky girl, Grace, is a model from Taiwan. In order to avoid any gossip, F4 only came into contact with her during filming. F4 explained that this was for her own good. If not, their fans would go after her. (Lian He Bao-July 31, 2002)

F4's Vanness released his first solo album. He held a promo session yesterday in Taipei, and it attracted a crowd of fans. Jerry suddenly showed up to surprise Vanness making Vanness very happy. Jerry continuously praised the album, saying that it was one of the best he had ever heard. Being the second member to release a solo, it was very stressful for Vanness. He hopes to sell about 150 thousand album. The session was for the purpose of pre-ordering, and it attracted over 20 thousand people. Many CD shops in Taiwan even asked for more stocks as a result from the big turnout. Sony Music is very confident that Vanness' album "Body Will Sing" will do well. Many fans lined up 3 days ahead just to be able to see Vanness closer. One Hong Kong fan bought 50 CDs at once. The company thought that she was going to sell them but realized later that she was a representative of his Hong Kong fans. Some fans stayed on stage refusing to leave, so that Vanness would recognize their faces and perhaps pick them for the female lead in his MV. Jerry's appearance was a happy surprise for Vanness. Vanness asked why he was there, and Jerry answered that he came to buy the album. They hugged and Jerry told the crowd that it was one of the best albums he had ever heard, and he even asked fans not to buy the pirated version. Vanness was very touched by Jerry's action. Meteor Garken II's storyline had finally been revealed. Other than Jerry (Dao Ming Si), Da S (Shan Cai) and Michelle's love triangle...recently there were rumors that Hua Ze Lei, Vic Chou's character will realize that he loves Shan Cai the most. Hua Ze Lei loves her from the heart, yet can't say it. The crew members noticed that Zai Zai had changed since MG. He's happier (more sunshiny). Zai Zai Zai smiled and said, "I'm now the fat Hua Ze Lei and no longer the sad Hua Ze Lei." MG II, one of the most secretive scripts finally had a leak that Shan Cai would attempt to get Hua Ze Lei and Jing together. But...Hua Ze Lei realizes that he truly loves Shan Cai, adding to the love triangle between Shan Cai and Dao Ming Si. Zai Zai had a happy time filming in Spain. Work started at 7 a.m. in the morning. They even have snacks at 1-2 o'clock at night. When he returned from Spain, the crew noticed that he had gained some weight. But, he had been working out. Zai Zai who use to be 70 kg, was now more cut and built. Only a year apart between MG I & II, Zai Zai now looked stronger and happier. His crew commanded that he needed to lose some weight: "What are we going to do? The sad Hua Ze Lei is no longer in existence. If this continues on...we won't be able to show the public." After a small break, MG II will resume filming shortly. During this free time, Zai Zai was in Guang Zhou for the MTV Awards. Then he went to Bei Jing to attend the "Tai Yang Ji Hua" concert. He had also been busy studying for his re-entrance exams in order to continue with his schooling. (Lian He Bao-July 27, 2002)

F4's Jerry had been said to be bad tempered. During the release of their "Lilo & Stitch," Jerry lost control once again. No matter on stage or backstage, Jerry had no expression. When the 4 were suppose to perform their song, Jerry just sat on the side. It was very strange since the other F3 were there singing and dancing. Zai Zai noticed what was happening and immediately went to sit next to Jerry. With his arm around Jerry's shoulder, he lightly patted Jerry a few times. Finally, a smile appeared on Jerry's face. Because of the filming of MG II in Spain, Jerry didn't get enough rest. His mood swings went out of wack. Plus he wasn't feeling well a few days earlier, so he was kind of depressed. Jerry was known to cry easily, and it was caught on film. That night, F4's 3 other members all got out of the car for preparations, but Jerry stayed in the car for an additional 10 minutes. Being interviewed backstage, Jerry's face had no expression plus he only answered the questions with one or two words. Seeing this, Vanness continuously threw his microphone up and down just to cheer Jerry up. Jerry hesitantly gave out a smile. After that, his manager took him aside to talk to him. Jerry's eyes were red, and the makeup artist was seen wiping his tears. Zai Zai and Ken went to comfort him, but he didn't seem to have any reaction. They were interviewed once again after the show. His manager explained that he had a stomachache so that was why he was acting that way. But when "Dong Feng" TV company called them again about the incident, the manager's story changed, saying that Jerry had a heat stroke and that Jerry definitely wasn't crying that night. (Sing Tao Daily-July 20, 2002)

After their stardom from MG, F4's every move have been closely watched by the media. First, there were rumors of the 4 not getting along. Then it was Vic and Jerry fighting for their manager's attention as well as Vanness and Ken not having an equal chance. Since Ken is the only member not of "Comic Family" company, he had been forgotten. After the release of their Anniversary Book, fans called the company asking why the book had mostly Jerry in it. There were only 2-3 sections/pages regarding F4's visit to Beijing and Singapore while there were 11 just for Jerry's autograph session in Hong Kong. As for the posters that came with the book...Jerry, Vic and Vanness had on a brand new image, but Ken's picture was taken from an old photo from last year. This made Ken's fans very upset. Jerry had his own photo album. Vic will be traveling out of state for his photo album soon. Vanness' first solo CD will be coming out. Only Ken have nothing coming out. Ken's Taiwanese fans complained about the companies' unfairness towards Ken. The company explained that they did take lots of new pictures of Ken, but decided to use an older picture of him for the poster because it matches the others. This picture have never been released (new), so fans please don't get the wrong idea. Knowing of this news, Ken goes online just to explain and relief his fans dissatisfaction. Ken wasn't unhappy about the situation and was not afraid that "Comic Family" might be angry with him because of this. He was only happy that his fans cared so much about him.
