Prologue

     Seated next to the window on her flight back to Taiwan, Celia was haunted by reflections of why she left in the first place. It was all because of that one night. The night he was suppose to meet her at the pier if he forgave her; but he never showed up. ‘Why didn’t he come? He couldn’t forgive me...’ Celia closed her eyes to keep her tears from flowing out. It has already been a year, but it still felt like just yesterday when the whole ordeal happened.
     "Excuse me, Miss." The stewardess interrupted her thoughts. "Would you like coffee or orange juice?"
     "Coffee please."
     "Here’s your coffee." The cup was placed down on the pulled-out table in front of her.
     "Thank you." Celia took a small sip of the coffee and smiled at the thought of her first time drinking it. It was him who introduced her to it. She remembered how bitter it tasted at the beginning but once it was slowly examined in the mouth, the delicious flavor reveals itself with a slight bit of sweetness. Like the bitter sweet of romance , alluringly and addictive.
