The next morning, Tay waited for Crystal outside of her store. A car was parked in front soon after, dropping Jocelyn and Crystal off.
"Be careful." Nicolas kissed his wife. "Our baby is in your hands." He smiled, flashing his gorgeous dimples.
     "You, too."
Nicolas watched them as they headed for the flower shop.
"Good morning." Tay greeted as he walked up to Crystal. "Crystal. Let me..."
"Jocelyn. I forgot something at home. I need to go get it." She left immediately after she said that.
     "Okay."
"Crystal. Please wait!" He followed after her.
Seeing this, Nicolas quickly got out of his car and went towards them. "Is he bothering you?"
She avoided looking Tay in the eyes. "He..."
Nicolas grabbed Tay by the collar. "Look! You leave her alone! You hear me?"
"Nicolas. Don’t." Jocelyn lightly touched his hand asking him to release his grip on Tay.
It was then when Nicolas’ eyes finally met with Tay’s. ‘It’s him! This can’t be.’ Nicolas paused for a second when he recognized who this young man really was.
Tay also had the same reaction towards Nicolas and was without words.
     Nicolas released Tay. "Leave now!"
Tay gave one last glanced at Crystal right before his departure.
At the pub, Jake noticed that Tay was sitting quietly at the corner bunk. He knew that something must be bothering him, so he went to cheer up his young friend. "What’s wrong?"
"Huh?" Tay realized that Jake was talking to him. "Nothing. Just a little worried about the trade this coming Friday." Actually, the trade was only a tiny part of his worries. He had been stealing glances of Crystal from behind a tree, but didn’t have the guts to confront her. It had already been a week, and the thought of her not wanting to come in any contact with him truly ached his heart. He had never felt this way about a girl before. She was special. She was his dream. His goddess. Even at his young age, he knew for sure that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
The morning of the trade eventually arrived. This time it was for real. Not a scheme. The trade-off was a very dangerous one. Tay knew that there were risks and that he might not make it back; so he convinced himself to tell her his true feelings.
"Hi." Tay walked into the flower shop. He stood in front of Crystal, but she looked away, without saying a word.
     "Hello." Jocelyn smiled.
Tay smiled and nodded to Jocelyn; and then he turned his attention back to Crystal. "I just wanted to see you one last time before I leave."
"You’re leaving?" Jocelyn asked. "Where to?"
Tay avoided the question. "I...might not come back."
Crystal looked him in the eyes once she heard him say that.
"I don’t want to leave knowing that you are still angry at me. I’m really sorry for upsetting you. I never meant to make you cry." Tay took a small box out from the pocket of his gray cargo pants and handed it to her. "Please accept my apology."
She didn’t take it, so Tay placed the box on the counter. He smiled, hesitantly. "I have to go now."
     "Bye." Jocelyn answered for Crystal.
Tay turned to walk away, disappointed that she didn’t even want to talk to him.
