Tay woke up and found himself in an unfamiliar room. He slowly sat up from the couch and took a better look around. He felt a shooting pain on one of his arms and noticed that it was wrapped up in bandages.
"You’re awake?" A voice interrupted his train of thoughts.
     "Where am I?"
"You are in the back room of my store."
     "How did I get here?"
"I found you in the back alley this afternoon. You were bleeding tremendously."
"Thank you." Tay finally looked up and realized who he was talking to. "You are the girl from this morning?"
The girl nodded. "You must be hungry?" She handed him a plastic bag. "I brought you a sandwich."
Tay smiled and took it. "Thanks." He was about to eat the sandwich, but he remembered something all of a sudden. "Jake! I have to find him." He placed the sandwich back into the bag and immediately headed for the door.
Suddenly, his cell phone started to ring.
"Tay! Where are you? Are you alright?"
"Jake? I’m okay. How about you?"
"I’m back at my place. They didn’t chase me after we split up."
"They didn’t come after me neither."
"They have both the stuff and the money. No wonder they didn’t come after us."
"What are we going to tell, Boss? We gave away the stuff but didn’t get the money." Tay realized that the girl was staring at him. "I’m coming over right now. We’ll talk then."
     "Alright."
Tay turned off his cell at once, not wanting her to hear anymore. "I have to go now." He looked at her. But...before I leave. May I know your name?"
     "My name is Crystal."
"Crystal." Tay smiled. "What a beautiful name. I’m, Tay. Thanks for your help. I’ll see you around."
"Ah..." She grabbed hold of his jacket. "Your jacket..." she said as she handed it to him.
"Thanks!" He put it on. "Also...thanks for the sandwich." He held the bag tightly in his hand and left with it.
After reporting to their Boss the next morning, Tay and Jake walked out of the room not knowing what to feel.
"Who would have known that the cocaine Boss gave us was fake." Tay said, still in disbelieve.
"He’s testing us." Jake said, irritated.
"If Bill Gor knew that we were giving him fake stuff, he would have killed us."
"Bill Gor is one of Boss’ men. The whole thing was a scheme. No wonder they didn’t chase after us. We’ve been played." He clenched his hand into a fist.
"Hey...hey...don’t worry. I’ll revenge for you! Revenge!" He raised his arm up in the air only to be reminded of his injury and groaned out in pain.
"Are you alright?" Jake couldn’t help but laughed at the sight of Tay. "Forget the revenge. First recover from your injuries."
"What the heck are you laughing at?"
"Forget it." He managed to stop with his laughter and placed his arm around Tay’s shoulder. "Come on. I’ll treat you to lunch."
Walking down the street, Tay suddenly stood still when he caught eye of the floral shop.
"What’s up, Tay?" Jake glanced over at the same direction Tay was staring. "Oh...it’s her." Jake recognized the girl. "She’s the girl from the bus?"
     "Ah-ha..." he smiled.
     "You really like her, huh?"
     Tay nodded.
     "Well...go say ‘Hi’ to her."
     "Ah..."
"Come on!" Jake dragged him along.
     "I don’t think it’s a good idea."
Jake ignored him and proceeded to pull Tay with him.
"What...what about lunch?" He tried to make up an excuse in order to get away.
"We’ll have lunch later. Or...perhaps...she can accompany you to lunch." Jake smirked.
Before he was able to run, Tay realized that he was already standing in front of the floral shop.
"Hi!" Jake said to the girl.
"Hello," Crystal greeted back. "May I help you?"
"You definitely may," he grinned. "My friend here..." Jake shoved Tay towards her, "wants to ask you to lunch. Would you do him the honor?"
     "I..."
"Hee...hee..." Tay smiled. "Don’t listen to him. He’s crazy."
"There’s no one here to watch the store. My cousin went to a doctor’s appointment. She won’t be back for another hour."
"It’s okay. Tay will wait for you. Right, Tay?" Jake patted his shoulder.
     "I’ll wait."
"Okay." Crystal smiled, showing her deep dimples.
"Alright. I guess I’ll go to lunch by myself. Have fun...Kids!" Jake said right before he turned to leave.
Crystal’s cousin returned not long after.
     "I’m back!"
     "Jocelyn! You’re back!"
