SUMMARY

Ocean City Cup took place from March 19-22, consisting of 4 days of rydercup play.

Day 1 took place at the Gary Player signature course. The weather was sunny and warm. The competition was 4-ball. Competition was tight in the front nine, china leading 1 up at the turn. Play was consistent between the teams, Tae leading the koreans and Rich and Bry both contributing equally. Eventually the 2 on 1 play took its toll on the Koreans as they eventually succumbed with 3 holes to play. Rich, Bry and Tae all shot in the mid 80's with Jamin struggling to find his game.

(afterwards the chinese celebrated with steaks dinners that the Koreans never paid for....all rich and bry got was alot of dinner trash talk!)

Day 2 took place under blistering cold and drizzly weather. Temperatures dropped overnight into the 30's. Better ball play was the game at Eagles Landing. Jamin, with his consistent 30 yard drives, eventually took its toll on the Koreans again. Rich and Bry continually teamed up to hold off the Koreans midway thru the back nine. On a crucial par 5, tae crushed a great 3 wood into the wind, just to have it land in the ravin. Seeing the power of the wind, rich told bry to 'just hit it into the ravin'. But bry smashed his 3 wood over the raven on route to win the hole. The match was conceded on the next hole, after both koreans failed to sink 3 foot putts.

aterwards the korean spirits and hopes of winning the cup were crushed....

Day 3 took place at Ocean City Yacht and Country club. The weather remained frigid, with singles matches taking place. Tae played consistently, winning both his matches. Rich and Bry stunk out the place, with rich only being able to beat jamin. The competition was now 2.5-1.5, the koreans back in business - winning the final day would give them the cup.

(afterwards, rich discovered that putters have sweet spots!)

Day 4 was 4 ball (worth 2 points) again and took place at Rum Point. With everything on the line, guess who took over. Thats right....RICH-the devastator. With his consistent play and devastatingly accurate wedges, the koreans were no match at all and all hopes of winning the cup quickly slipped away. Relentless thru all 18, the chinese took their 2 hole lead after hole 3 and continued to build on it all the way back to NYC. The day ended with the Chinese retaining the Cup for an unprecedented 10th straight time.
