OCCISOR

COLOMBIA

After a long time I could work in this interview. With several problems here,
but now you can read it.

Occisor is a very known band. The first CD was called "La Edad Del Fierro", please tell me about the beginning, ¿who were the creators? ¿why that name? ¿first gigis? etc.

The band was an idea of Javier the firs bassplayer and Rocky the drummer, that was there in 1997, they found me and we started the band. The band name comes from the latin word OCCISOR which means killer and that we want to say is taht every being has his own part of evil incide, it’s something of the human being. The killer is inside you, was the slogan in our first Demo tape Llanto en silencio. Also we wanted to emulate the name of the big band Slayer.

About the gigs, we have played with Napalm Death and Transmetal, and the best Colombian bands. It hasn¡t been easy, but metal is what we love, for that reason we go on working, for the metal.

What’s the actual line up?

It’s Carlos, vocals. Juan Manuel, bass who replaced to Javier since 2000. Rocky, drums, Ronald, guitar.

You played in one of the last "Rock al Parque Fest", please tell me about that afternoon

That was on November 2001 and it was another sep more in our run, but it was an unforgotten experience, we closed together Masacre and thousand of maniacs. It was great.

What’s the ideology of Occisor?

Well, we aren’t politicians, we like to express our ideas and feelings about the world (which is very fucked) by the art. The people needs to know the bad that is this system, it’s a new enslaved throught a life that brings us trash. Every day they make us work more for less money.

What’s the influences for your strong music?

Our influences are since the experimental to the Grind Core Death, and a lot of styles as Jazz, Fusion or Clasic. But the sound in La Edad Del Fierro is only Death Metal.

In the new songs you can feel this fusion, but keeping the metal.

What’s the plans for this year 2003?

We will record two new songs for be part of Rock al Parque Fest again and we are looking for an outside label.

How is the scene in Bogota now? ¿what do you thing about the few people in the Vader gig?

The scene here is developning, here arrives bands. It’s necessary to be just one scene, also is necessary most support from the media. I guess that in gigs like Kreator and Destruction there’s a lot of people, and there’s another gigs like Vader, for a people less masive.

Where another colombian places have you played?

We have played in small cities, the scene isn’t only in Bogota, there’s a lot of people outside this city supporting the metal. All the gigs have been excellent.

Thank you for the answers, just leave a message...

Thanx Alex for the interview and the oportunity to be close to the fans by this powerfull media. I’d like to tell the fans that open their eyes to see beyond every thing and listen Metal.
