MISERICORDIA

S W E D E N

Readers: this is a new and good band that needs of the support that all us can offer them. In an advance to their next MCD, Eternal Night made its review in the section 'Reviews 2002'
Here the first interview for the colombian scene

Hails, ¿how is the band right now?

We are working on the material for our next record that will be recorded by the end of this year. We will also try to promote our MCD Erase the skies with as many live gigs as possible, but it’s hard for a relatively unknown band like us to find gigs.

How was the beginning of Misericordia?

Misericordia was formed during 1999, after all of us had been involved in various bands. We recorded our first demo, I love jesus (Ripped to pieces) and sent a few copies to some labels. We weren’t satisfied with that demo, but felt that we had great potential to make it better. Our second demo Delenda Caeli was recorded within a year. At that time we knew that we had found our sound and were convinced that Delenda was our way to a record deal. Delenda was sent away to a couple of Swedish labels and a few weeks later a letter came from Downfall records. We went to Gothenburg and signed for one MCD (release Nov 2002) and one CD/LP that will be released during the first part of 2003.

Endymion

Why did you sign with Downfall Records?
Do you want to go on signing with that Swedish label?

It was a coincident, but it felt good to have a record company based in Sweden. I know that they believe in our music and will do their best to support and promote us. We decided to sign with downfall because they gave us a fair deal.

Which is your 5 favorite bands?

Hmm! They are many, but some of them are: Bathory, Spawn Of Possession, Deicide, Iron Maiden, Mayhem (de mysteriis doom sathanas)

Deumus Silenti

On the moment ¿how is the scene in Sweden?

I think the scene here is a little boring. There isn’t so many live concerts arrange in Sweden. The bigger band doesn’t always come to Sweden, maybe because Swedish people download many albums from Internet instead of buying them, that may lead to that many bands don’t know how many fans they have here.

What's the reaction of the fans with the MCD Erase the skies?

So far Erase The Skies has received a great welcoming from both press and audience, but it’s hard to tell before the release in November. I think that Erase The Skies can go very far with the right promotion.

Deobrigula

Do you know South American bands?

Yes! Krisiun are great!!!
I have an album with Sarcofago, they are cult! Some other bands I know are Mystifier, Snub Niggurath and Sepultura. Sepultura was very popular here in Sweden a couple of years ago.

What are your future plans?

To record an exceptional album, and play as much live as possible.

Kail
