LYZANXIA

FRANCE

The member of this great band David answered to me a short interview. The band is unknown in Colombia, but I hope that Lyzanxia becomes very known soon. A french channel (MCM) has presented a video of them, the song called Bewitched. Ok, let's read the interview...

Hi David, how have been the band por these days?

Hi! Our last album has just been released in Japan, and every thing is all right! We still waiting for the worldwide release, and we're doing gigs in France for the moment.

What does it mean tha band name?

The name of the band is the name of a French medicine against mental depression!

What reminds do you have about the first days when you played in clubs?

We keep good memory from our first gigs. We have learned a lot. Generally the first gigs are very deciding for a band. You can immediately know if you can make music your job. We still playing in clubs sometimes and it's often very friendly!

Has the musical style varied from the first demo Rip my Skin until today's day?

I can't say that the style of the band has change from 'Rip My Skin' till now. There's a big evolution of course, but we have kept the base of our sound. I think that we play better now! We work on the songs much more than from the beginning; and the sound is better too. If you listen to songs from 'Rip My Skin' and to songs from our last album you will hear a difference but you will recognize Lyzanxia.

In my country Lyzanxia isn't very known,
I saw in the French channel MCM the Bewitched video.
How do you seek to arrive to the Latin American people?

There's no distribution for the moment in Colombia. I hope that our last album will be available in your country. It will depend on the releasing label. For the moment no date is fixed for an American release. I hope our video clip will be played on Latin American TV.

When you released Lullaby album, you played with known bands.
What can you tell me about the gigs with Edge of Sanity and Loudblast?

It was great experiences. We love these bands; to play with them was really cool. In fact when we played with Loudblast it was there last gig!

Do you play covers in your shows?

We don't play covers during our shows, but sometimes we like to introduce extracts of good bands like Megadeth or Slayer into our songs, as a wink.

How did you achieve the agreement with Trepan Records for Eden album?
Did you get another offerts?

Trepan Records is our own label actually. We have created this label to find a distributor and to release our album 'EDEN'. It is a good point to be musically free, but it's harder to find a good distribution. We had some offers from some labels, but the deals were not good enough, so we preferred to do a big part of the job ourselves. We have other licences for the distribution outside of the France.

What can you tell me about your next album?
Has it title already? Will it be licenced by Trepan too?

As I told you before, King Records in Japan has just released our last album. Its called 'MINDCRIMES'. This Japanese version contains too bonus tracks. We have recorded it in March 2002 at Backstage Studio (LYON-France), and we have mixed it with Fredrik Nordström at the Fredman Studio (GOTEBORG-Sweden). We have recorded 15 tracks which will kick many ass! We are discussing with labels for the European and American release.

Have you heared colombian bands?

No sorry! I've never heard Colombian bands, can you send me some stuffs?!!!
