Hello, how is Lunatic Gods in these days and how is the scene in Slovakia?
LUNATIC GODS are fine. We have sex and drink as much as we want while we continue working on new material for record called "Mythus". It will a portion of our insane lunatic metal again. Slovak scene is thriving, I believe the world knows the names of DEPRESY, PATHOLOGY STENCH, SANATORIUM or THALARION plus we have a bunch of other hopes as for instance PROTEST, WAYD, ORKRIST, DYSANCHELY, ERYTROSY which also produce great music.
Please tell me your best memories since you created Lunatic Gods? Well, there was a lot we experienced. Maybe the story about our ex-keyboardist King wanting to get laid with our drummer Psycho during recording our debut "Inhumand and Insensible". We thought it was fun but he really meant it! He was lucky to lock himself up in the drums room else he would get beaten up. Now we have a female keyboardist Lu so there are no homosexuals in the band. Has the musical style varied in your three albums? Our music contains everything, just read some reviews of our latest record "The Wilderness" and you'll see expressions like BLACK, DEATH, HEAVY, THRASH, DOOM, PSYCHO, INDIAN, FOLKLORE, VIKING, JAZZ, TECHNIQUE, INDIA ... we really don't know where to label our style so we call it lunatic metal. This third album is one of the best that I've heared, how it has been the distribution? Shindy Productions cooperates with several official distributors but mostly their titles are spread by classical ug channels, i.e. trading with both great and small labels. About 2000 have gone by now - during 9 months since release. Great start, I'd say, we hope to topple the psychological 3000. How very often are you playing live? We don't play live so often, about twice a month. We are seven, so it's not easy to coordinate. And we are also picky about where we play. Only when we are on tour we play more often. As for big names, we supported KING DIAMOND, VADER, KRABATHOR and now we should play with KREATOR and EDGUY. Which is the perspective to attack the scene of Latin america? I negotiate a licence with one label in your country for a tape and possibly CD release there. It's still an open thing. I traded a couple of CDs with Colombian friends, but 40 CDs for Colombia is not that many, is it? If anyone is interested in trading, just e-mail me on hirax@stonline.sk. I have a fine running distro, so I can help your bands get to Slovak market. How is the contact inside Shindy and the band? The contract is for one album only. We shall see who releases our next album. We want to push forward the promotion around "The Wilderness", let the world know we are here and we mean it. Maybe some major lbale will notice us, perhaps Vatican's branch of Sony Music will ring me up one day, hehe. Tell me your 5 favorit bands? Well, that's tough. I listen to everything from rock to grindcore. I could say YES or KING CRIMSON. Metal is hard to pick any band, lately I was listening to EMPEROR, OPETH, ANOREXIA NERVOSA or BAL-SAGOTH. I love technical death metal like PSYCROPTIC or SCEPTIC. How do you compare the bands of Europe with those of Latin America? As for music, I can't see any difference. Latin America has many good bands playing great music. Lately I was taken aback by Brazilian OPHIOLATRY, real killers! European bands may be step ahead in the appearance of the recordings, covers, image and promotion. Have you heared colombian bands? I know ASGAR, INFERNAL, MIXOMATOSIS, PLANTA CADAVER and INVASION, I cooperate with TRIBULATION and SYLPHORIUM PRODUCTIONS so I have these things from them in my distro. A final commentary...
