KRATORNAS
PHILIPPINES
Hail Bruno. Welcome to Eternal Night (Webzine)
Greetings Alex…
Tell me about the idea to create a one man band…
There’s no intention. It’s just that there were simply a lot of morons
in this town way back then. There are other persons involved, but
attitude differences has been an issue so I’ve continued doing things
all alone and found it even better than being with idiots having
rockstar fantasies and all that.
Tell me about the last recording, your first full length CD
entitled ‘Over The Fourth Part Of The Earth:
When did you record? What about the experiences in the studio?
I own the ‘studio’ but I don’t know if it’s correct calling it a studio
since it’s a small place. It only contains real equipment that I actually
in deep need of. No computers, air fresheners, carpeted floors and all
that kind of superficial stuff! Only real shit with knobs and fucking jacks!
I’ve started recording the first 2 tracks last April 2006. I suppose
to finish it earlier, but since June starts to rain, problems on power
failure is immense making the process took longer than I expected.
This CD is released by a German label. Which is that label?
How did you do the contract?
Grave Smasher Records. It’s not exactly a label. Kratornas is the only
band being release, I don’t know if he got any other plans after this.
Maybe he’ll be releasing some old bands with free goodies, just like
what other so-called ‘die-hard’ labels do nowadays, bah! I don’t know.
I’ve been in contact with this guy since 1995 until now. Contracts
and all that is nothing but paperwork which is not applicable if the
both of you live in the end part of the World.
Is it necesary for you to invite friends to play live?
Or are you glad being only a Studio band?
Hell this is even not a ‘band’. No plans playing ‘live’.
What’s the meaning of the lyrics?
Book of Revelation and The Four Horsemen! Famine, War, Pestilence and Death!
Haha, don’t keep me going on with that! Explaining bands lyrical
content among interview goes nowhere anyway…
How is the present time in Philippines about Metal Festivals?
I have no idea about that. I’ve no plans going to any of these
“festivals” if there is really one coming around.
Recommend us other bands from your country…
Deiphago. They relocated to Costa Rica as we speak ‘though…
Have you listened colombian bands?
Utuk-Xul, Horncrowned, Infernal, Thy Antichrist. Got demos of Drakar
and Lemures after having that flyer last '99 (I think) too.
I think I’ve been in contact with the guy from Manitu or I just can’t
remember anymore?! Masacre has been a big influence to Kratornas!
Anyway, “MySpace” makes this world so small already. Maybe I’ve heard
a lot of other Colombian bands in there but forgot their names,
or maybe haven’t got their names at all!! Too bad ‘Metalheads’
have gone so lazy sending real copies these days!
Let a message to our visitors…
Columbian Metalheads don’t hesitate to get in touch! Thanks for the interview..
