This is a great band, very succesfull into the underground of Europe. Eternal Night proudly featured Denata in the excellent CD Death Knell and now it feels the same pleasure doing this interview... How was the begining of Denata? Ponta and I had been talking about start playing some old school thrash / death for a long time and one afternoon drinking coffee at Pontas place we finally decided to bring it alive for real. We first started as a project to record a vinyl EP as a tribute to the old school scene but later we found out that it was so fucking fun that we hooked up Roger on bas guitar and became a 3 man band. After the EP tracks we started to play a bit more "serious" who I think you can hear on Departed to hell. That's the short story! Which is your opinion of the compilation Death Knell?
The compilation is really good. Great underground bands and a great mixture
of music styles, a nice CD to listen to when cleaning the toilet hehe. To
be honest it's great stuff!
Which has been the support for Denata from suramerican people?
We have received great feedback from South America. A lot of fanzines have
been in touch and some fans have contacted us as well! You guys seem to be
possessed by old school metal!
Where have you played lately?
We haven't played with Denata yet actually and we haven't decided when to
do it. Right now we are busy writing new material. The main reason of not
performing live yet is that we need session musicians. If we get a good
offer we will probably work it out somehow! Time will tell...
How is the musical industry in Sweden?
I guess it isn't too different from other European countries. There are a
lot of gigs in some towns but where we live it's not too many. We have
some really good yearly metal festivals as Decibel 2000. We have a lot of
good bands up here but I guess there is no better country than Germany if
you want to visit metal concerts!!
Have you 3 another different activities of the metal?
It depends on what you mean with activities but we aren't playing golf
and cricket! Ponta and Roger have works and families. I have nothing more
than music. We are all pretty crazy about computers and beer! Of course we
have some really morbid activities after midnight but I can' tell you what
it's...
What do you know of the Colombian scene?
I don't know much at all. I have just heard a few bands from Colombia
What means the religion for you?
Religion is shit and keeps the believer in bondage. Religion means nothing
for us and we are all atheists but we like to flirt with Satanism and the
darker side of the human race.
Do you have enemies within the scene?
Not what we are aware of.
