The gender of this germany band is Heavy Metal. The CD they sent to Eternal Night is entitled The Eternal Curse, it features 8 tracks which the last is Breakin' the Law of Judas Priest. Personally I liked the second Route 666 for the energy so rock & roll. Jens answered:

What has been the best and the worse since the band started?

The best and the worst happened to us on just the same day. We had to play a gig for a well known german radio-station. This station only plays chart music, and nobody seemed to know that we are a Metal band. So when it was time to enter the stage, we had to play in front of 3000 kids (all between 10-16 years old) who expected chart music and not 4 longhaired guys in spikes and leather clothes. After about 40 minutes we had to stop playing, but we played one final song: METAL WARRIORS (Manowar) and that song took about 10 minutes ! Whimps and posers - leave the hall !!! This day will always remain something very special in our band-history.

For what reason did you have to change the name Claymore?

Untill now I already know 6 bands that use the name Claymore, and nobody knows how many bands there are in fact. One of this bands (a german folk rock band called Claymore) also keeps the rights on this name and so we were forced to change our.

What will be the name from now?

First we decided to change the name into Face of tyranny but nobody seemed to like that new title. So we were looking for a new name again, but we wanted to keep Claymore and make something new out of it. So the new name was: CLANS OF CLAYMORE, but again we changed the name, finally is STEELPREACHER

What about your songs speak?

We write the lyrics when we've finished the songwiting. I listen to the song and think about it: What sounds it like?, What story could this songtell? And then I write the lyrics. Sometimes it's a True-Metal text and sometimes the song is about fantasy stuff, or just about riding your motorbike, for example.

How many copies of The Eternal Curse album have you sold?

Soon after recording this Demo, we had't been satisfied with it's quality. So we gave some copies to friends, sold them after gigs and send some to magazines. But as I said, we don't like it very much, so we don't sell it anymore. I would say that we've sold about 50 copies, and that's all. But we plan to put the songs of the Eternal curse demo onto our new CD as a bonus, but in MP3 format.

How the new album sounds?

I tell you when it's finished ha ha ha. The new album will just be a 4 Track MCD and will come out in early 2002. We've chosen a studio that produces a warm but powerfull sound. I hate this cold and steril sounding CDs wich many of the newer metal bands release today. The sound will be more 80's like - a warm sound with a lot of power!

In The Eternal Curse album you included the song Braking the Law of Judas Priest. In the new album did you include any other cover song?

Breaking the law was the first song that we played together as the band Claymore. When we've started playing it in the Studio (this studio was a rehearsal room) it sounded very well and we decided to put it on the demo ! So in general, it was just for fun. But unfortunately some people didn't like our tuned up version of this song and called it blasphemic. To make it short: there will be no cover song on the new CD!

What's your opinion about the bands which has three guitarrists as Iron Maiden?

I think it's quite difficult to bring a good song with three guitars and there are not so many bands that really go to the edge with this large amount of strings, haha. LeatherWolf, for example, made really good stuff and the timing of the Solo-Guitarists was also great. They knew how far they could go with three axes. But for an Underground band there is maybe no use por this.I think it depends on your qualities as musicians. In my opinion 2 guitars are enough. Iron Maiden surely don't need three guitars! Their songs work perfectly with two, as everybody knows! They probably do this for promotional reasons, to get more people to their concerts maybe.

Furthermore of to play music, what more do you do?

Of course Music takes the major part in our lives. Playing Metal, listening to Metal, living Metal that's what it's all about ! But I am also the german repesentative of the Dragonight Agency (www.truemetal.org/dragonight) and singer in a Metal Cover band called Straight Ahead. Furthermore,Marek (guitar) and I spend a lot of time in the Fitness Studio. Muskel (bass) plays also drums in a melodic-thrash band called Epitaph and Olli (drums) usually spends the day with waiting for tomorrow ha ha ha

What do you know about Latin America (central and south)?

To be honest, not very much, must be somewhere very left on my globe ha ha ha. Here are some words that are in my head when I hear Latin America: Sepultura, Rainforest, Sao Paulo, Children in Getto's, Karnreview in Rio and of course the brasilian girls with the big Kazonga's he he
