Well, Arch Enemy was touring and then the beauty and great singer Angela Gossowtook a time to answer this fantastic interview... Hello Angela, how was the last tour of support for the new album? Great. We did Ozzfest and came out as being the official breakthrough-artist of Ozzfest 2005.
We started a 2,5 months long world-tour in October this year (right after Ozzfest) and played
very successful shows in Europe, Japan, Australia. Currently we are in America, then we will
head over to Europe again and finish this tour in the UK.
I heard, that the UK shows are all going to sell out. That’s fantastic! Is the new CD different in some of the previous one 'Wages of Sin'? or does it keep the same line? Well, ‘Doomsday Machine’ is still 100% Arch Enemy, we kept all the trademarks (shredding solos,
atmospheric melodies and tons of harmonies). The songs are different though, we have matured in songwriting. I have understood that you wrote the lyrics of this new album. What's the topics of these songs? I wrote most of the lyrics. The songs are about personal revenge, strength, power,
letting your aggression out, instead of turning it against yourself. We like the overall
image of ‘world downfall’ and ‘doomsday’. It’s a reoccurring theme on all the AE albums. After each tour I suppose that you arrive home resting a little.
How is a normal day for Angela Gossow? I don’t have normal days, cuz back home we still work for Arch Enemy.
Lots of rehearsals, writing new songs and lyrics. I work out every day and love cooking. You mention to Morbid Angel, Death and Carcass like your favorite bands.
Which do you consider that are the best albums of those bands? The earlier ones, where these bands were full of raw energy.
Altars Of Madness, Leprosy and Heartwork are my faves. As in Germany as in Sweden there are many and good metal bands.
Which is the difference musically among the bands of those 2 countries? The Swedish ones are more successful. They are somewhat better in songwriting. Where has been the best concert with Arch Enemy? In Australia recently. Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney blew my mind! Absolutely crazy! Would you like to come to play in Colombia? Here are many fans of Arch Enemy I know. Yes, we would like to! Depends on your promoters. Some of them are not very reliable.. How do you imagine this country? Warm and green. Very friendly people. Extremely crazy metal fans. So I heard.
