TOM ABELLA
COLOMBIA
This guitarist has several years teaching his secrets to a lot of guys
in Bogota city. On the moment he is so close to release the second CD.
Read this interview, he says the true of Yngwie Malsteen and the bad
support here in Colombia.
Hi Tom, how are you in the personal and in the professional?
Find in the personal and with some projects in the professional as the
recording of my second album and a guitar method which could be published
at the end of the year. Also I'm waitting for some gigs where we'll show
the new stuff.
How many years do you got as professional musician?
Around 8 years.
Why don't you speak about the main gigs?
Well, the true is that aren't enough, you know how the rock is in this
country, my style is for a few persons, here isn't enough space to play.
What I want to tell is that I've done no more than 50 gigs, but there have
been some good like NOCHE DE PAZ NOCHE DE ROCK in the JORGE ELIECER GAITAN
Theater with Jaguares but I don't feel proud to play with that band
becouse they are lights and no more.
How was the reaction of the fans with your first CD?
We really waited much more, as I said, the geographic position of our
country... The CD has been better supported in countries as Mexico,
by the way the first edition is near to be sold out.
Ed: This is true,
Death Knell of Eternal Night has had a great aceptattion outside Colombia
that here inside where the media either help to promote.
What's the actual project?
We are arranging the new stuff.
How are the guys that take guitar classes with you?
Now that I'm high scool teacher, I've really showed my abilities and I've
seen how the goog level of them is rising.
Why Tom Abella didn't play with Yngwie Malsteen in Bogotá?
I don't like to speak about that. Some friends said me that he is a
fucker and now I'm sure of that.
Ed: I'm really sorry!
Do you guess that you can play with some great guitarrist?
No, becouse here aren't warranties. Maybe if Steve Vai come...hmmmm
Now you can leave a message for the Heavy Metal lovers...
The metal hasn't died, open your minds, the music is so big to turn it
so small, atte. TOM ABELLA
