ARGENTINA

This is one of the best Argentina bands that I know, for that reason Eternal Night Records is distributing their CD Genesis & Horror. Alejandro has answered this interview a time after the release of that CD.

¿Why that name for the band?

1917 is the title of one of our two first songs, we wanted that name for the band too

¿How was the band before "Bienvenido a la Nada"?

We released it on 1996, the demo "Bienvenido a la Nada" was recorded on 1995. Since the beginning of the band (1994) until later 1997, the band had the same line up with four members, but today we are two: Pansa (bass) and I (guitars and vocals).

¿Why did you use elements from aborigen music in the CD "IntiHuacay"?

We wanted some short parts of andin music openning and closing that CD. Then we liked that soft and melancholic melodies mixed with our aggresivity and in our second CD "Genesis & Horror" and in the last released split CD "Sudamérica Brutal vol. II" we included intros inspired in that music.

¿Tell me obout the several compilations which include 1917?

The first compilation was made by us, it was titled "Memorias de Muerte" on 1997. Then of our first CD, we received invitations, for example: "Hermandad Metálica vol I" (Argentina, 1999), "My Kingdom" (Italy, 2000), "Ancient Ceremonies vol. IV" (Portugal, 2000), "Sacrilegio Extremo" (Argentina, 2001), "Nahuel vol. III" (Argentina, 2001) and anothers. We like that kind of CDs.

¿What’s the answer of the people with the CD "Genesis & Horror"?

The answer is really great, the reviews have been very positives. We are finishing the first press. Then it will be released on vynil and CD too.

¿Do you play very often? ¿do you play covers?

We played a lot at the beginning, but with the lack of a drummer we are quite. Now we are preparing some date with Eric (an invited drummer). About the another question, we don’t play covers.

Ok, the last words in this interview...
