Interview with Fardeen on the sets of No Entry
Extracts from an interview with Fardeen on the sets of No Entry in Mauritius
"Everybody expected me to be like him in my very first film… they should give me time"
"It's inevitable. In time I have to create my own identity. I'm just five years old in the business. My father has been around for four decades. People compare us, it's not fair. They must give me time…"
"The Press have their own view on it but if you go by the number of fans I have, I don't think they will believe the same things. I really don't bother with the press… Once I get a success they will change my image completely and start writing that I'm a good actor. Whether my films do well or not, it's part of the business. I'm still around and still extremely popular. I'm grateful to my fans for that. They are my best critics. As long as they watch my films, I'm not bothered by the press."
"It's definitely flattering to have so many fans. But I think they love the illusion about me. I don't know if they will love me that much if they know the real me."
He is : "a regular and normal person who is not so much outgoing but prefer instead to stay with family and friends."
"Every director who believes in his actors has to be open to their opinions. My father has always taken into consideration my ideas."
"It's the first time that I'm doing an entire comic movie. In the past we had comic scenes but not an entire comedy. I'm having a lot of fun. It's good to change than doing only drama or action movie. We are all in a good mood for this film. There's a lot of laugh and we are enjoying…"
"Acting is no different to any profession. We all have our challenges in life."
"It's difficult to shoot in the heat but we are all having fun and doing team work. If filmmaking is done in the right spirit, even if you have a lot of challenges, it's all about having a good time."
"No entry is about suspecting wives and lying husbands."
"I have discovered that I'm a good liar (laugh). In this movie, I'm playing someone who is pressurized into doing something. To save his best friend, he has to lie. I act for a living. I don't believe in lying but professionnally, I have to lie to survive…"
Last word for his fans: "Love you. Just follow your heart and be yourself and don't let anyone put you down."
Anil Kapoor
"I love my fans in Mauritius ! They have been very kind to me. The kind of love and affection I get here is not comparable. I have films which haven't done well in India which has been appreciated here. That's the kind of affection I get from Mauritius. I'm grateful to them."
