Let’s Ride!: Grooming the Face

What to do:
Change your horse into a grooming halter and crosstie him.
Start with the face brush and brush all over the face. Every inch. Brush behind the ears, on the ears, the throatlatch, etc.
Take a small sponge and wet it. Wring it out until it's almost dry. Clean the ears (inside) for dirt, bites, scabs, ticks, etc. Don't go deep into the ear canal! Refreshen that one or get a new sponge and clean out the eyes and nostrils and mouth.
Take the cloth and wipe the whole face. Gather it up in your hand. Loose ends might flap in his face and spook him.
Then take the EXTRA soft face brush and brush the face again.
Take the sunblock 45 and dab some onto his muzzel to protect his nose from the sun. Only use the sunblock if your horse's nose is pink or white.
For an extra treat, feed him a peppermint candy to make his breath smell good.
TIP: When wiping a horse's face with a towel, make sure the loose ends don't flap in his face. This might spook him, so be extra careful. Gather it more in your hand or use a sponge.
