The Putting Edge Contest
The owner of my Featured Site asked me to help promote his book, The Putting Edge. Together, (more him than me, thanks Larry!) we have created several golf related trivia questions. Each month, starting July, we will have a new question posted on this very page. Those who answer correctly will be entered in a draw to win the book, the Putting Edge, free of charge INCLUDING SHIPPING! Email me your answer to this months question at eenders@xcelco.on.ca with the subject heading CONTEST (so I can find it in my sea of spam). There's nothing to lose, but a very nice and handy golf book to gain.

WHO AM I?
“Coming into this Masters, I was in 160th place on the money list. In fact, I had just missed the cut at the Honda and had missed the cut in three of seven tournaments this year and withdrew from a fourth. My most impressive showing was a tie for 39th at the Hawaiian Open, which didn’t exactly throw a scare into Corey Pavin, who won. One golf analyst had just told USA Today that I should consider retirement from the game. Well, I had opening rounds of 74 and 71. Then on Sunday, during the front nine, I had missed two four-footers, but was still only 4 shots from the lead! I was seven under for the final 10 holes, sculpting a 30 that tied the Masters record for the back nine--winding up with a 65 and roared past eight players to win! Kite and Ballesteros had just eagled No. 8, but then Ballesteros bogeyed No. 9. I then birdied No. 11 and was just two shots back. I slid past Kite and Ballesteros. Then ahead of me at No. 18, Greg Norman went for a birdie and the win, but faltered with a bogie. After completing No. 18, I had won by one stroke over Norman and Kite. During my final round I was wearing checked pants and a yellow shirt. Yellow does go nice with green, doesn’t it?” WHO AM I?

GOOD LUCK
