~ALL TIME HIT LEADER~
Peter Rose was born on April 14, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
I always like Pete's style of play! Mr. CHARLIE HUSTLE! I remember growing up watching the head first slides and the clutch hits when the Reds needed them. I will never forget sitting in front of the television getting excited everytime he would come to the plate
I was 20 years old on September 11, 1985, when Pete broke the hit record with 4,192 hits, set by Ty Cobb in 1928. Rose retired from baseball after the 1986 season with 4,256 carrer hits.
Pete managed the Reds from 1985 to 1988.
On August 25, 1989, Pete Rose was banned for life for betting on baseball. I don't think it is fair that he was banned for life for betting, but athletes who abuse drugs can go to rehab two or three times and be right back in the game, and are eligable for the hall of fame! It's crooked! Hopefully someday the ban will be lifted and Pete will be in the BASEBALL HALL OF FAME. Check out the list of Roses records I have listed here and tell me he should NOT be in the baseball hall of fame. GO REDS!!!
