Dear Hon. Ernie Eves,

I believe that the Oak Ridges Moraine deserves better protection from development and urban sprawl from the government. The Oak Ridges Moraine is a high range of hills running from Caledon to Northumberland. It is made of sand, silt and gravel and was shaped by the last ice age. It is sometimes referred to as the rainbarrel of southern Ontario because it contains so much of the water that is drunk by over 60,000 residents of Caledon, Aurora, Uxbridge and other municipalities and communities. It is important to protect and preserve the Oak Ridges Moraine because it contains a natural wealth of biodiversity. Birds, mammals, reptiles, plants and trees; it's obviously a beautiful natural haven for creatures. It is also important to preserve it from development of houses, roads and offices because of the dangers to drinking water that development could bring. I appreciate your interest and concern and I strongly hope you and your government will take the necessary action needed to save this moraine. The 6 month freeze already committed to is not enough. And the Ontario Municipal Board should be abolished because it is dangerously biased agaiinst nature preservation and it always rules in favour of the greedy developers. The people of Ontario need something permanent to protect the moraine forever. It's time the government stepped in and protected the land once and for all.

Sincerely,
A concerned citizen
