Technical Precis:

The below represents an Alpha Security document.
Opening, reading, observing or knowledge of the existence of this document to any personnel who are not appropriately cleared represent a breach of Corporate Law Paragraph 64(b)(q): Punishable by extradition to Ares territory, death of personality, or indentured servitude.

Intent:

Ares MacroTechnology is a major player in a crowded field. Competitors often employ covert and extra-legal operatives to illegally obtain patented Ares technology. Breach of security and theft of Ares intellectual property is a significant threat to Ares' ability to maintain a competitive edge in the technology marketplace.

Trained operatives skilled in infiltrating or penetrating the research and marketing are able to, in a limited fashion, determine to what degree Ares has been compromised. In order to more effectively police the market place, Ares must train and equip agents who will guard Ares' intellectual property in Corporate and National Zones outside of Ares' own.

Execution:

Traditional methods of paid informants, computer intrusion and other surveillance techniques have met with limited success. In-situ inflitration is the best possible means of information gathering. Further- Non-Ares personnel will react most advantageously to Ares personnel if they operate under the assumption that they are interacting with personnel of their own corporate or national entity. Therefore, Project Doppelganger will train and equip operative(s) capable of posing convincingly as Non-Ares personnel. Specifically - the Doppelganger(s) will assume the identities of particularly influential or information-privileged individuals.
