Fall of the Maiden

There she falls down through the air
With tear-filled eyes and floating hair
No one ever would but dare
To break her maddened reverie.

She lifts her face up to the sky
And filled with anguish wonders why
Her love so great was left to die
When it seemed to go on endlessly.

Pained she thinks back to the day
Wherein his loving arms she lay
Forever there she vowed to say
But that was just a fantasy.

Then last of all she thinks of he
And wonders wherein he may be.
One last time his face to see
And hear the distant melody.

But all is gone, the night descends
And never shall they make amends.
