Sorry, sort of an inside joke. Rick gets ask whether he is a cop somewhat often. He can usually be found in Dockers and nice shirt, typical detective gear. That's where the term sprung from.
In jeans and a t-shirt, I don't get the same question. Wearing dress slacks, white shirt, and tie, I just get smiles and nods since they *know* I'm a cop. Oh, and the occasional one-finger wave, since they know I'm a cop too.
Funny how people's assumptions run.
