The Torch/ASH newsletter is an interesting piece. This year I just signedup to get it, and not to be a "voting" member. It is a well produced, no typos that I have spotted, newsletter on a totally paranoid anti-all-religions bent. They collect stuff from interesting places.
I suspect that the closet "founder" of ASH, one John Stahl, is the real editor, and putz is just a goffer. Realize that Stahl is a "risen above" Alcohol Any-mouses defector. He just sees too many references to god in their 12 steps. And he collects AA bashing material from where-ever. If you see anti-AA items, they come straight (oops, pardon the pun) from Stahl.
Now, look at the problem Susan has with all this paul/linda shit. To be Humanistic we must accept all commers, all different views, etc. etc. The hardest part of being a 501-3-c, which wants to accept all, is how to manage expelling someone. The process is brutal and divisive. Now, if they would just "accept the divine guidance and genuflect in submission..." (oops, wrong religious paradigm.) You really don't want to get HSGP into calling the cops and dragging off Linda&Paul for trespassing. Ugly, ugly.
That's all I have to spew at the moment.
