For the record, I am a registered political Independent--have been for years--and have voted in recent elections for Democrats, Libertarians and Republicans.
I do not support George W. for the nomination. If the election were held today, I would vote for Bill Bradley.
I am a supporter of a strong national defense and am a philosophical advocate of individual freedom,but opposed the US military intervention in Kosovo for a variety of reasons, as well as the Gulf War for Oil.
I am pro-gun control and affirmative action, a supporter of gay rights, an opponent of the death penalty, and a proponent of dissemination of birth control information to youth who harbors an aversion to killing the unborn (although I do support legalized abortion).
I am also an atheist who opposes the John Birch Society, while my grandfather, Ezra Taft Benson, was a religious believer who thought the Birchers were wonderful(Contrary to your claim,he was not an official member of the JBS; on the other hand, my Uncle Reed Benson--ETB's oldest son--was a professional Bircher for years)
