I prefer to give up neither. The warrants issued from the State constitute voluntary contributions by filers off their State Income Tax forms. Yet a government mechanism is being utilized to obtain said monies. The State (Ds and Rs) traps us in their game.

If we take the money, and we succeed in destroying this process (along with the Matching Funds problem), are we stronger or weaker? Shall we be tactical or strategic? I think that a lot of this debate hinges on exactly that.

Do we discredit ourselves by using the tactical means to obtain the strategic objective? If we accept monies dispensed by the State, especially after the passage of this godawful public financing initiative, will we harm the objective we all strive for, i.e. greater Liberty? I don't pretend to know how others may think. It's tough enough to think for myself (jeez, and I'll bet it shows), but I'll say this about that: let the factions compete.

I know that there can be only one Libertarian Party in Arizona, per the statutes that we must kiss up to. Also, there are party by-laws to consider. It's times like this that I wish the Baja Arizona secession really came to be back in the '80s. I think that maybe the Party should say to the candidates, "You're on your own!" Let's see what kind of results are obtained.

I think a fair measure of success could be 1) Victory 2) Adherence to Principles not necessarily in that order. Let the market (electorate) decide.

We didn't get to the state we're in overnight. I doubt we'll get out of it overnight, though I won't rule out the possibility.

I want to get this factionalist arguing resolved, and move on to address the real perpetrators of this situation. They're in my sights! Don't bump my aim!

Kindest regards,

Bert
