I've been working on proposed amendments to the Party Constitution. Here is the current draft. These are intended to be general and to hit only the things that there is widespread agreement on.

Comments or changes are solicited.

The term "The Party" in this section shall mean the Arizona Libertarian Party and any of its subordinate or subsidiary organizations.

1. The Party and the campaigns of its endorsed candidates shall be funded by voluntary contributions. To remain independent of the Government we are trying to change, neither the Party nor its candidates shall accept from Government any grants, matching funds, or other similar contributions derived from taxation or other coercive means.

2. No resources of the Party shall be used to support any candidate whose campaign violates this Constitution or the Bylaws. The Party shall take all reasonable actions to disassociate from such candidate.

3. No elected officer of the Party may be compensated for holding their office. The governing body of the Party may reimburse officers for actual expenses incurred in the performance of the duties of their office and shall indemnify them against legal actions resulting from the performance of their duties.

4. The Party shall not enter into any business arrangement with Elected officers of the Party, their immediate families, or any business in which these persons hold an interest or of which they are officers, unless the specific arrangement is first approved by vote of a regular convention at which Party officers are elected. This approval will expire at the end of the next regular convention.

5. Other than the affiliations between the State Party and its County, City, District, or other subsidiary Parties, this Party is an independent organization and shall not be merged with or made subordinate or subsidiary to any other organization.

6. This Party, its Officers, candidates, and other Representatives shall not use force or fraud, shall not deceive, lie, cheat, or steal, and shall not tolerate those who do.

7. The Party shall establish through its Bylaws a formal mechanism for hearing and evaluating charges of violations of this Constitution and its Bylaws and for setting and enforcing penalties thereto.
